Indoor-Grown Breakfast, Including The Drinks!

The most important meal of the day with CEA
When you think about indoor agriculture, you probably think about veggies, produce, and leafy greens. What you probably don’t think about is tea and coffee.
We know about greenhouse-grown food, but what about greenhouse-grown drinks? Your morning beverage could have been grown indoors!
Vertical Farm Daily and HortiDaily report that hydroponically-grown coffee could be a thing of the near future as facilities are popping up across the world.
Plus, more and more research is being put into the possibilities of growing coffee indoors.
Research finds that growing coffee in a greenhouse can extend the flowering season and give growers the opportunity to experiment with taste and caffeination without worrying about the effects of pesticides.
More of a tea drinker? Your morning brew is being grown indoors, too.
According to Vertical Farm Daily, growers are choosing to cultivate tea indoors so they can avoid the use of pesticides and ensure enhanced flavor.
Tea can be grown both vertically and hydroponically, which are both great options for indoor growing due to their efficiency.
Additionally, having tea grown so close to urban areas reduces the length of shipping, which increases the freshness and quality of the products.
A lot of breakfast staples such as tomatoes, strawberries, and potatoes are grown in greenhouses. So why not coffee and tea as well?
In fact, your entire meal can be indoor-grown if you look for the right brands, or if you grow them yourself in your own greenhouse.
For example, everything (except the eggs, cheese, and meat!) in your omelet can be greenhouse-raised, including the onions, tomatoes, peppers, and herbs.
These developments go to show that more and more of the things we consume every day are being grown indoors. As the CEA industry and technology advances, so will our growing capabilities.
